Research proves that there is a positive correlation between parent/guardian involvement and student success! Find ways to get involved in your child's education and support his or her efforts in and beyond the classroom!
What can parents/guardians do to build a good working relationship with the school counselor?
The American School Counselor Association shares five recommendations for parents/guardians who would like to build good working relationships with school counselors:
-Find out what school counselors are and what they can do to assist your child.
-Communicate with your child's school counselor at least three times each year.
-Let your school counselor know about you child's individual concerns and challenges.
-Use your school counselor to find out about school policies and procedures, as well as community resources that may help your child.
-See your school counselor as a partner in your child's success.
